BAMFORD, Margaret Bernice - 79, Centredale, Pictou Co., died July 14, 1996, in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Centredale, she was a daughter of the late Wallace and Margaret J. (Chisholm) MacKenzie. She was a lifelong resident of Centredale. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Canada. She served as secretary/ treasurer of Springville Cemetery for a number of years, as well as Elgin Cemetery for over 40 years. She was a member of Clan MacKenzie in Nova Scotia. Surviving are her husband, Alfred, Centredale; sister, Bessie (Mrs. S.W. Laurie), Penticton, B.C.; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brother, William H.; sisters, Edna J. Findlay, C. Hazel MacKenzie. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, funeral 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, both in H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton, Rev. Charles MacPherson officiating. Burial in Elgin Cemetery.
On 27 JUN 1946 when Margaret Bernice was 29, she married Alfred BAMFORD. Born on 21 JUL 1907 in Quincy, Massachusetts. Alfred died in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Canada, on 22 DEC 1997; he was 90. Buried in Elgin Cemetery.
Alfred Bamford and his wife Margaret Bernice MacKenzie lived on the farm settled by William MacKenzie and Flora MacMillan in 1801.
