Retired Tram Car Operator Dies At 88 Stellarton- Hugh Robert Dunbar, Plymouth Park died Sunday in the Aberdeen Hospital. Born in Centerdale, 88 years ago, he was a son of the late John and Barbara(MacKenzie) Dunbar. He had been employed by the Pictou County Electric Company as a motorman in the early days of the tram service, after which he had worked at the Trenton Steel Works until his retirement some 16 years ago. Surviving are two sons, John in Balmertown, Ont., Lloyd, at home; two daughters, Velma(Mrs. Clarence Stewart), Churchville; Aleen(Mrs. Earle Kellock Jr.),Plymouth Park; also five grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Mary Murray, 45 years ago. The remains were transferred from the R.H. Porter Funeral Home and are resting at the home in Plymouth Park. The funeral will be held on Tuesday at 2pm from First Presbyterian Church with interment in Brookside cemetery.

Isabel Richardson seems to think that Daniel Willie Dunbar and his brother Donald Dunbar are in fact the same person. The 1881 Census of Pictou County, Canada lists Donald as 12 years old, and the 1891 Census lists Daniel W. as 22.

Halifax Chronicle-Herald - Wednesday, March 28, 1962 - Mrs. Alex Dunbar - Hopewell - died at the age of 77. She was born in Bridgeville and was the former Florence Chisholm, daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Robert Chisholm. She was a member of Bridgeville United Church and was active in women's' organizations at St. Columba Church. She is survived by one sister, Bessie (Mrs. Paul Fraser) - Hopewell. Her husband predeceased her as did six brothers and one sister. The body is resting at Ross Funeral Parlour, New Glasgow. Funeral service to be held 2 p.m. Thursday from Bridgeville United Church with service conducted by Rev. A.T. MacDonald.
